The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
