Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
