And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Canst thou (Muhammad) make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is in error manifest? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
