The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
