The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
