The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
