The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
