The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
THE STARTLING CALAMITY. 1 What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour? 2 And what will make you comprehend what the terrible calamity is? 3 A Day whereon mankind shall become as moths scattered, 4 and the mountains shall be like fluffs of carded wool in varying colours. 5 So for one whose scales prove heavy, 6 Will have a tranquil life; 7 But as for one whose scales are light, 8 His abode shall be the abyss. 9 And what could make thee conceive what that [abyss] will be? 10 (It is) a hot blazing Fire! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
