The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
