Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for an appointed term? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
