The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
