We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And helped them, so they were victorious. 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And We guided them to the Straight Way. 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 They were two of Our believing servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be with the followers of Elias. 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 he was among Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night-time; have ye then no sense? 138
