Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
