The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For those on the right hand; 38
