a good many of olden times, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 And the shade of black smoke. 43 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 44 For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury), 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 Such will be their welcome on Judgment Day! 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 You have certainly known the first creation. Why, then, do you not take heed? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire that you kindle. 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74
