The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In extended columns. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
