Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 no caring friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
