And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
