The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
