By no means! By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
