Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O men! Be conscious of your Sustainer: for, verily the violent convulsion of the Last Hour will be an awesome thing! 1 on the day when you behold it, every suckling woman shall neglect the child she has suckled, and every pregnant woman shall deposit her burden, and thou shalt see mankind drunk, yet they are not drunk, but God's chastisement is terrible. 2 Among people there are some who wrangle about Allah without knowledge and follow every rebellious devil, 3 against whom it is written down that whosoever takes him for a friend, him he leads astray, and he guides him to the chastisement of the burning. 4 O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). 5 That is because God -- He is the Truth, and brings the dead to life, and is powerful over everything, 6 And because the Hour is coming - there is no doubt thereof - and because Allah will raise up those who are in the graves. 7 And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him], 8 Turning away in pride to beguile (men) from the way of Allah. For him in this world is ignominy, and on the Day of Resurrection We make him taste the doom of burning. 9 (And unto him it will be said): This is for that which thy two hands have sent before, and because Allah is no oppressor of His slaves. 10
