The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
