[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
