(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 “And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?” 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This has been happening all along. 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
