Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
