O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful. 59 ۞ If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease (evil desire for adultery, etc.), and those who spread false news among the people in AlMadinah, cease not, We shall certainly let you overpower them, then they will not be able to stay in it as your neighbours but a little while. 60 Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering. 61 Such has been the way of Allah with those who have passed before them, and you shall find no change in the ways of Allah. 62 Men ask thee of the Hour. Say: The knowledge of it is with Allah only. What can convey (the knowledge) unto thee? It may be that the Hour is nigh. 63 God has rejected those who deny the truth and prepared for them a blazing Fire. 64 To dwell therein for ever: no protector will they find, nor helper. 65 The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet." 66 They shall say, "Our Lord, we paid heed to our leaders and our elders, but they led us away from the right path. 67 O our Lord! give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse. 68
