Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
