The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And carpets raised. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For those on the right. 38
