The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news - 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
