The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
