Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 who perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and have sure faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! 11
