Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made them for driving away devils. For them We have prepared the punishment of the blazing Fire. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
