The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
