The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
