The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 That this is a decisive word 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
