(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
