The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
