The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(All) praise is due to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness. 1 (He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Paradise). 2 [a state of bliss] in which they shall dwell beyond the count of time. 3 And warn those who say: Allah has taken a son. 4 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie. 5 Perhaps you may destroy yourself with grief if they do not believe in this message. 6 Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. 7 and, verily, [in time] We shall reduce all that is on it to barren dust! 8 Do you think that the people of the Cave and the Inscription (the news or the names of the people of the Cave) were a wonder among Our Signs? 9 When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: 'Lord give us from Your Mercy and furnish us with rectitude in our affair' 10 Then We draw (a veil) over their ears, for a number of years, in the Cave, (so that they heard not): 11 Thereafter We raised them up that We might know which of the two parties was best at reckoning the time that they had tarried. 12
