Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
