Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But the more I called, they only ran the farther away. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 And He will add unto you riches and children and will appoint unto you gardens and will appoint unto you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 that thereof you may thread ways, ravines." 20
