The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
