The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
