The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 for a great Day, 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A written record, 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
