Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
