The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
