Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and neither known this my account! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
