Thamood cried lies to the Envoys 141 When their brother Salih said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 142 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 Within gardens and springs 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 “And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?” 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 and do not follow the biddings of those that go to excesses 151 Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. 155 and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and then they became regretful: 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 159
