Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
