The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
