The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
