Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
